As we all know that the four core departments of Hotel Industry require different sort of qualities among the aspirants who wants to join them. So, we are hereby coming up with four different articles on qualities required in a student to join Hotel Industry or Hotel Management Program. The first article of the series is written by our Food & Beverage Lecturer on qualities which a student should have or possess if they want to join Hotel Industry as a Service Professional or who wants to do a course in Hotel Management Program and want to choose F&B as their core department.

Today everyone is looking to make their marks in their dream profession. It is essential to have excellence in technical front and skills, but to be a successful service professional; to earn fame in this industry, a student should have specific qualities.
To identify qualities inside a student or a professional inspected by the core interviewers at deluxe hotels and properties, the interviewers not only look for punctuality or hard working attitude, but they also look for what ideology a student have, or the level of creativity they possess and the vision of the student regarding a job duty.
Vision to erect out qualities, inside a service professional is slightly curious.
Here are some qualities which a student should have or should have the abilities to generate if they want to join some Hotel Management Course or Hotel Management Institute to become a service professional:
Art of Waiting for the Careless
A student who wants to be a service professional should be patient enough and a man who always welcome all guests with a pleasant smile. He should behave like a lady and act like a man, he should be active, humble, courteous and always on his toes.
Wet Look with Luster
Students who became service professionals are the brand ambassadors of the Food & Beverage Service outlet. They need wet look hair, fair crisp look with style. Their body should speak their energy levels from hair to toes.
A quality to address all with due respect and name helps to create a bond with all. Active listening and sharp memory to learn faces with their names really make a professional special in the eyes of all.
Art to Sell Yourself
A student should develop communication skills with a blend of languages with flowery vocabulary and melting butter is required on the top which will bring a smile on every ones lip. How you greet a guest plays a vital role in courteous behavior.
When you learn the art of how to formally win the heart of your guests, words by you are not less than the words of an advisor.
Perception & Silent Voice Reader
Students who are good mind readers and understand the needs of a guest by their expressions actually touches the limits in the industry just like kites. A good presence of mind and observing power will act as a boost to it.
Start Duty with Watches & end with Self-Initiative
The student should be passionate for work to learn more and more practically. He should carry an attitude to complete his job duties with self-initiative and motivation. Work with building blocks and an eagerness to achieve fame will bring efficient results.
I am sure youth between us holds all such qualities and they just need to explore it out, rub it on the edge to bring shine and luster like a gem.
